Branding a Semester School Experience
Q: What would you get if Harvard University and Patagonia had a baby?
A: Alzar School
A semester school located in Cascade, Idaho, Alzar School, wanted to revitalize their online presence. With the expansion of their campus and goals for increasing student admissions, Alzar collaborated with DaviesMoore to design and build a new website giving them a fresh, innovative look that oozes the school’s adventurous spirit, cultural exchange and academic excellence with an emphasis on building leaders for the future.
The project began with a full scoped discovery and an on-site visit to Alzar School. Through the discovery process we were able to really get to know our client inside and out – touring the campus and experiencing what it’s like to be a student at Alzar School, fully understanding their business objectives and goals, mission and vision, audience, third party integrations, and full site functionality. Even meeting some of the staff was extremely helpful to determine the personality and tone of the website. After the discovery we were able to define a clear strategy and plan to move forward with a sitemap which reduced the overall number of pages and amount of copy – focusing on clear messaging and CTAs.
Planning the UI/UX of the website, we took the main goals of communicating, educating, attracting and engaging, and recruiting into the strategy providing a clean, yet cool design with little easter eggs throughout the site. Alzar was looking for this site to not only captivate and educate the audience, but also to set them apart from the competition.
In addition to the design and development, DM also provided content services including keyword research for SEO, copywriting and editing, set-up of their Google Analytics account and website hosting and maintenance services.
